When my friend Alaskanson offered to let me try out the LELO Oden 2, I was as giddy as a school girl. Lelo makes some of the best toys in the industry and their innovations have been remarked upon by many of my fellow reviewers and friends.

I first saw this to at a BDSM coffee. A friend of mine had the controller and offered it to me to play with. Both it and the manual are little booklets that fit in a space under the toy box and are printed in several languages including English, German, Swedish, Spanish, and Russian. The manual, along with tips and instructions, is also illustrated for ease of use.

The entirety could be kept in the pretty box or be slipped into the included silky bag to keep dark and discreet in a purse or toy drawer.

Distance and Discretion

When we brought the Oden 2 home, I slide the vibrator in my panties and watched as Sir Phryxus shook the remote, walked around the room with it then promptly left the room, shut the door and tested the range of the wireless remote. For Couples' Use

The Oden 2 Insignia Uner Manual states:

Upon closer examination of how far this ring stretches, there is no way possible for us to stretch the ring around both Sir's penis and scrotum without hurting him badly. His balls just won't fit that tiny ring.

We felt that the open ring would better fit an erect penis and scrotum and are still curious why that wasn't recommended instead.

During sex, the vibration is not only strong against the Oden 2 but can also be felt through the penis and into the vagina during penetration. This was a pleasant surprise that was easily replicated with use on a dildo.

Sir Phryxus Reviews

My husband, Sir Phryxus, used this toy with me enthusiastically. He too had played with the remote control of our friend's toy and had been talking about using this toy on me for some time now like a threat that we both were salivating over.

We've used cock-rings together before, and have had hit and miss on them as Sir has a decently sized penis with considerable girth. This one was also hit and miss.

While the open styled ring was comfortable enough for Sir to wear the Oden 2 while playing video games and just messing around on the computer, the closed ring was a very different story. The ring is supposed to be large enough to stretch over both penis and scrotum, however, while it was only on Sir's penis, it was tight enough to cut of circulation very quickly.

I give the Oden 2 from Lelo a 4 out of 5 stars! The only negative aspects is that the closed ring isn't stretchy or comfortable enough for Sir to wear without cutting off circulation, however the open ring was comfortable and the toy so fun we couldn't count this one negative thing against them too strongly.

I love this toy as a wear-in-panties discreet vibrator to play with in a secretly exhibitionist sort of way!

I love that new leather smell! I was so excited to receive these beauties as they are the third set of cuffs I've reviewed and, after two bad reviews, I figured third time's a charm. I figured correctly as these were exactly what I wanted  in a pair of ankle cuffs.

Materials

The package (which was promptly eaten by my roommate's dog and thus not pictured) lists the following traits of the cuffs:

• Restricts free movement for extra excitement!
• Two ankle cuffs with a detachable metal chain with two karabiner hooks. 
• Cuffs made of black leather, softly padded inside. 
• Each approx. 6 cm wide, adjustable size with buckle between approx. 18 and 30 cm. 
• Metal chain including karabiner approx. 60 cm long.
• Material: split leather/metal.

About the materials, I will say that the leather is genuine and gorgeous to look and feel. It's not that bad-quality, thin crap that I often see at many adult novelty stores that frays and rips easily. This leather is thick and sturdy enough for aggressive use in bondage play.

The metal chain was also a surprise. When seeing metal and not getting an in-depth description of the type of metal, I usually assume cheap aluminum and/or nickle. Instead, the chain is made of the same sturdy material used to make high end dog leashes for large and aggressive dogs (found this out through a friend of mine who has a large, aggressive breed of dog). I was impressed and do not have many worries about wearing these cuffs out any time soon.

Wear and Tear

I received these cuffs the day before the Anchorage Fetish Ball at Mad Myrnas. What a perfect event to try them out!
The cuffs were comfortable enough to wear the whole evening walking around the club and standing to watch various play scenes. I showed the cuffs off to friends and fellow kinksters at the event and everyone who saw them was impressed and wanting to know where to purchase a set of their own.

Cleaning and Care

Since these cuffs are genuine leather, they can be cared for, conditioned and cleaned like any other leather gear. My first recommendation is to have them cleaned by your local boot black at an event. If you've never had this done, it is an experience that is sensual, instructional, and beneficial to the leather gear.

If there is no bootblack near you, then you can clean and condition your leather just as you would leather boots. In many cases all that is necessary to clean leather is a damp cloth or a store bought leather cleaner. For a deeper cleaning a leather soap or saddle soap can be used. This is followed by polishing with a good leather polish/conditioner.

The metal pieces will be fine when cleaning the leather. Simply make sure they are dried and wiped-down completely before storing.

I give these cuffs a 5 out of 5! They're comfortable enough all night, sturdy enough for intense play, and beautiful to behold!

As my first toy from The Adult Toy Shop, I was very impressed by their online store and shipping process. The shipping was super fast and discreet (the mailer was labeled from Shipping Dept).

The Mouth Bit advertises comfort for long wear as well as beauty. I definitely got both of these things from this toy.

I wore the Mouth Bit to the Alaska Fetish Ball on March 30th after receiving it in the mail the morning of the event. It matched by purple and black outfit perfectly, looked beautiful with the purple silk ties and vinyl black roses, and could relax around my neck or fit comfortably in my mouth for the evening.

I have temporomandibular joint disorder or TMD/TMJ. This causes me to have difficulties in using gags that force my mouth open for an extended period of time as my jaw will lock up and become painful. Bit gags like the Black Rose Mouth Bit are perfect for me in that they don't force my mouth into an uncomfortable position but still perform the task of muffling speech.

As for the look of this Mouth Bit, I really love the style and the purple silk ribbons. They create the perfect comfort fit for the gag and I think that if the Bit had been made with leather or nylon straps, the comfort and beauty of this toy would have been lost.

The black rose detail of this Mouth Bit is adorable. I did have to work with the gag to place them properly as the plastic bit moves along the ribbon between the two roses.

As for the pthalates-free plastic bit, I was at first worried about the material not because of chemicals or comfort but because of durability. I have sharp little teeth. Sir has often whacked m for biting him because my teeth have been sharp enough to inflict marks and bring up blood. I was worried that my teeth would be able to tear the plastic but after biting on it hard and chewing on it, I found it to be both durable and without indentation from my front teeth.

After passing all the tests of aesthetics, comfort and durability, I give the Black Rose Mouth Bit a 5 out of 5 stars! I love this gag recommend it heartily.

Hung Deep Snake review

This particular toy was brought home by my girlfriend from Castle Boutique. I had been wanting to try a cock ring with my hubby so I was excited to receive this particular toy.

Issues Out of the Box
My only initial worry was, and I'm not sure if you can see it in this photo, but the anal "motor" is inside of the bottom of the anal beads and comes out via a hole in the cover. My worry is that in-use anally, the hole will pull back and scratch the inside of the anus. Also the motor is hard plastic and it comes out rather easily. So I don't think I will be trying these as they were meant to be used. Not brave enough to chance that particular issue.
The end of the beads could, however, be used to stimulate the outside of the anus if your butt cheeks are strong enough to hold it in place.

We tool the vibrator out of the anal beads and on bare skin it is incredibly strong. The only issue is it does need a sort of cover because the hard plastic has ridges, which I'm not sure why Hung would make it that way instead of a smooth mini bullet.

As for the promise to promote longer lasting erections, Sir Phryxus agrees. He found the cock ring to be very comfortable and grip the base of his penis with ease. He didn't have any issues putting it on or taking it off. The pressure of the ring kept him harder longer. He also found the vibration through the cock ring, thought muted, was enjoyable.

The material of the ring and beads is a silicone gel, which is oddly squishy and stays pretty cool to the touch when not using and cools down quickly after use. It stretches easily, which allows for use on any size penis and any size vibrator.

No Bullet...No Problem...
As for the powerful bullet, the one on the cock ring did not work. When pushing the bullet button it will vibrate but as soon as you let it go, it stops (it doesn't stay on). Thankfully, the cock ring stretches enough and we were able to use other vibrating bullets in it.

My New Favorite Toy - Sir Phryxus
As for my experience of the ring, it turned Sir into my new favorite sex toy. As a female using this for masturbation and for use with my girlfriend, I love the Share.

The silicone is firm yet flexible and has a soft, velvety texture. The only issue I found with the texture is that it picks up lint and cat hair easily so keeping clean it in a storage bag is necessary between uses.

The head of the dildo, though unassuming in its curve from the rest of the length, was large enough to stretch a both myself and my girlfriend. Once in though, it was a fantastic texture and sensation that we both enjoyed greatly.

As for the jelly-bean shape of the other end, it is quite large and not for the faint of heart...or for those who don't have strong kegel muscles. My girlfriend brags that I have fantastic kegel and thigh muscles, but even I had to work with the bulbed end before I was comfortable with it.

I have not used the Share anally on myself or on others, though I am sure using it while pegging would be satisfying for both partners involved. If you do use it anally, be sure to use a condom if you plan to use it vaginally after so as to prevent bacteria transfer. Other than that, a thorough cleaning and sanitizing should do the trick. Silicone is safe to be cleaned in the dishwasher, with soap (free of silicone ingredients) and water, or with a 10% solution of bleach. I usually clean my silicone toys in the dishwasher.

Share vs. Harness
Comparing the Share to a harness, I found the Share to be much easier to manipulate and use with another partner. I believe the ease of handling comes from how the Share sits once inserted. The way it cups the pubis easily, it sits in a way that a penis would naturally rise if the woman were indeed a man. A harness, however, takes more manipulation of the straps to bring it low enough, and even then, I have found that getting it to sit comfortably over the vagina is very difficult if impossible. Also, harnesses tend to chafe and cut into skin during longer play sessions.

Card Games: Fusxion Adult Playing Cards

Fusxion Adult Playing Cards feature "Hard Core Action" with "Gorgeous Girls" and "Filthy Sex."

My girlfriend, PunkyPup, brought these home from her new job at Castle adult novelty store. They were free and we thought it would be fun to play with them.
I have to say, the scenes one the cards are very distracting and would probably not be the best to pull out during a poker game that require concentration.

These are not your average Playboy playing cards with pin up girls. Each card features up-close and personal action with no pixilation, black bars, or any other form of censoring.
The cards show almost every form of raunchy sex with the exception of more obscure fetishes. There's anal, threesomes, lesbians, toy usage, even anal gaping and bukkake.

The only thing missing and, what I consider a low point to the cards, is male on male sex or transgender sex. However, maybe that is just me being greedy.

The other downside to the cards is that they are flimsy. A better card stock would have been preferred especially if you're handling these cards with sticky fingers.

In all I give the cards a 3 out of 5. Great scenes even if they don't offer a show for people of all sexualities or sexual interests and if they had been better made on nicer stock I would have given them a higher score.
My girlfriend said that 3 out of 5 was generous as she felt the flimsiness of the cards was a MAJOR downside to a point she didn't think that they would last longer than 1 night of...card games.

Loving Good Clean Love

Good Clean Love Personal Lubricant in “Almost Naked” states on the bottle “Recommended by Medical Professionals” and I would also like to add highly recommended by this Sexpert.

This lube is 95% organic, certified by the NOP, Oregon Tilth, with an ingredient list that includes aloe juice, xanthum gum, citric acid, and natural flavor. When I first read it, I was reminded of the ingredients list on a pack of candy. A larger spot on the label proudly pronounces the makers of Good Clean Love as a member of the Organic TradeAssociation. The product is also 100% vegan, cruelty free and safe to use with latex and silicone toys. If that doesn’t steal your heart, the part that stole mine was the label stating “No Petrochemicals, No Parabens, No Glycerin.”

As a person with a list of allergies a mile long, and getting longer every year, I was thrilled to find Good Clean Love. I’ve tried lubricants in the past, when I first started having sex, and had a really bad scare when everything broke out on me after using some basic KY jelly. I went to the doctor who assured me I didn’t have a STI and asked if I had tried anything new. I told her and she proclaimed my allergy. I've used Good Clean Love during sex and with toys and found the lube to be great in both situations. I don’t normally need lube during intercourse but found the addition to make the experience luxurious and wonderfully wet. My husband also thought it was a good idea to use it and loved the fact that using lube allowed him to go for longer without making me uncomfortable.

With toys, I used the lube on Boxie the Fox and was surprised that I could take the knot quickly and easily, rather than minutes of thrusting it in different directions until it pressed its way through. A friend of mine I used Boxie and the lube on was blindfolded and didn’t believe she’d actually taken the knot without some insistence on my part after. The lube certainly did its job there.

I had originally bought Good Clean Love lube on a whim at the local super market after receiving the Kobe Tai anal adventure kit from EdenFantasys. The lube in it wasn’t something I trusted using but I knew if I was going to take a plug or beads anally I would need lube. I’d read about Good Clean Love in other reviews and decided to give it a try.

Using it anally was a strange experience for an anal virgin. Lube in an otherwise unused area is a feeling altogether alien but I soon learned to enjoy it as my husband applied it liberally to me and to the plug he used. The lube did a great job and I don’t plan on playing out back without it. 

In all, I give the lube 5 out of 5 stars! I highly recommend this product, even if you don't have allergy issues. 

Kobe Tai Anal Adventure Review

The Kobe Tai beginner’s anal adventure kit appealed to me because I am just that, a beginner. My husband has wanted me to try anal since we started having sex four years ago. I’ve tried but I can never seem to relax enough to accommodate any more than the tip of his finger. When I saw the kit on EdenFantasys, I loved the variety…and that it was purple, my favorite color.

I brought the idea of reviewing the kit up to my husband, as I was afraid of receiving the toys for review and then being unable to review them at all...due to past experiences of saying I was ready and not being able to have anal sex mostly due to what my husband calls "spazzing out at the good part." He assuaged my fears and I requested the kit.

Like any other EdenFantasys' product, the kit came in a discretely marked box but I was surprised at how huge it was. All of the toys are in a very long, plastic display case with a Taiwanese model, Kobe Tai, in a skimpy outfit on the front. I would say the packaging of the product is not discreet at all, nor would it close completely once opened. So, we disposed of it rather promptly, opting for our toy bag to keep the toys in.

Plugged In

The kit includes 2 butt-plugs, one of which I believe is more of a stretcher as it is slender and widens as it nears the base instead of bulges large enough to remain inside. The stretcher is made of rubber and the other, which is what I would normally call a plug as it is bulging and then tapers for the rectal muscles to close on and hold, is soft and made of pthalate-free jelly.

I tried the jelly plug first and wished I had opted for the rubber stretcher instead and recommend this to other users. The stretcher is easier for a beginner to start out with, as it is a gradual stretching of the opening rather than an abrupt filling, then a sort of “pop” as the sphincter closes over the bulge.

Once in, the plugs create a sensation that isn’t unpleasant, if a little alien. Eventually, I seemed to get used to it and it felt pleasurable, if not orgasm-inducing. I give the plugs by themselves a 3 out of 5 stars, as the fun mostly lies in my husband making my body relax enough to take the plug and not in wearing the plug itself.

Probed

Also included is a set of jelly anal beads that are surprisingly firm. I had thought, since they were made of jelly, the beads would be squishy like the plug. Instead, they were more akin to a hard plastic. The whole length is also ridged with seams around the beads, which are not aesthetically pleasing but not big enough to feel when in play. Also, I have been informed by another sex toy reviewer that the seams on the beads are unsafe due to the fact that they can cause minuscule tears on the rectum and anus.
The beads graduate in size, and the last four are quite large. I don’t recommend using the last three, as they make for a better handle than an insertion point. Once inside, I did have a bit of a giggle at the way the beads looked hanging out. At first, we likened it to a stubby tail but the more I looked at it, the more it made me think of an improperly placed antenna and I made the comment that I felt like I was being probed, which made my husband and I both giggle. 

My husband and girlfriend also learned that the beads make a great small impact toy. This was almost certainly not what the beads were initially intended for but we had a lot of fun implementing them in some light spank play. In all I give the beads a 2 out of 5 stars as I have seen beads that are a single piece of silicone without ridges that collect any sort of bacterial-creating matter and no threat of tearing. 

I wanted to add that, since the beads are made of pthalate-free jelly like the aforementioned butt plug, they are considered not as chemically safe as silicone. This should be taken into account if you are sensitive to this sort of thing. Silicone would be a better alternative. 

Sensual Roller Coaster

My favorite part of the kit was the 6 inch metal vibrator and its 2 sleeves. Ironically, I don’t enjoy vibration anally, but for those who do, this vibe is something I would recommend…if you like power. This is no wimpy bullet, but a strong buzz that even when I inserted vaginally, I felt through my vaginal walls to my tailbone and buzzed against the bed. Thankfully, it has a gradual setting change so the speeds can be adjusted by a swivel at the base of the vibrator, which is not black as seen in the below picture but clear plastic that shows purple beneath.

The sleeves are made of rubber, according to the kit papers. I also prefer them vaginally as they, with the vibrator, have quite a thick girth and not a lot of give or squish. Their ridges and bumps are amazing and they, with the vibe, have become one of my favorite toys, sensation wise. The longer sleeve with the rounded bumps was rather difficult to slide on the vibrator, however, and could have been made to fit better. As it is, this sleeve needs lube. 

I recommend the vibrator and sleeves for double penetration (vagina and anal) with your man (or woman, if you enjoy strap on play). Having him behind with the sleeved vibrator in front is a sensual roller-coaster…especially when he has control of the vibrator speed.

The kit comes with Doc Johnson anal lube as well as the toys. However, I sadly could not review the lube in action. I will say that the no-mess bottle was a great idea. It’s a pump action with a small spout that only gives a dollop of lube at a time, which is all that is needed during most play. The lube is thick and sticky, silicone-based, and condom-safe. I recommend it for those of you who don’t have allergies…like me.

If you’re wondering, yes, I did use lube, and I recommend that anyone interested in anal do so whether you’re a beginner or an anal academic or practically a pornographic expert. More on the kind of lube I used in a later review.

For all of the toys involved, I recommend using a condom for easy clean up after anal sex and if you plan on using the toys both anally and vaginally as the materials are porous and not safe to use that way otherwise. The condom also helps with the anal beads and not getting bits of "yuck" along the bead seams. I also recommend obtaining a container for them, even if it's a simple freezer bag that is later tossed in a larger toy bag or chest. In total, I give the entire kit a whopping 4 out of 5 stars. In all I had a fabulous time reviewing these toys and I plan to make at least one or two of them a regular addition to my masturbatory practice and sex life. 

My Pink and Purple LoliFlog

A while back I posted that I had received a new flogger from toy creator MzBitch of Sensuous Bliss
Well, Sir Phryxus and I finally got a chance to use it July 14th at the local play party.

My pink and purple leather flogger, which I have dubbed the LoliFlog, received a lot of attention and admiration from the community Saturday night. The few who asked to check it out all said it looked pretty and painful. This, I can now testify, is the truth.

The flogger is made of leather (I'm assuming cow hide, because I wasn't informed otherwise) dyed pink and purple and knotted with silver plastic beads at the end of each of the 42 tails. It is not a cat-o-nine as many people called it at the party...a Cat-o-nine has NINE tails >.<

At the suspension rig and, later at the St. Andrew's Cross, Daddy warmed me up with our other 2 customer floggers from Toolworks Chicago, which I am used to, then brought out my LoliFlog. Even going easy, the silvery beads and knots at the end make sure to grab my attention. As the throws grew harder and heavier, I could feel each bead against my skin and, even though Daddy made sure not to mark me right away, I could feel heated welts from each sting form as the beating went on along my shoulders, back, hips, ass, thighs and even between my legs.
Warning: This toy is not for a beginner masochist.

Daddy's comment on using the flogger was "it seems to hold up well its pretty lite which I'm not use to so controlling how hard it hits is hard. All in all it was good, though it seemed like it would be nice and stingy." I agreed.

The only issue I had with the flogger was that it did have some glue flakes on the strands here and there that had to be pinched off and caused minor discoloration and there is a piece of leather on the handle that feels a little loosely glued but didn't seem to get any looser after use, so it should be fine.

All in all, the LoliFlog gets a 5 star rating from me. I can't wait to have it used on me again ^_^

I received these beautiful danties in a discreet packed through UPS with the return address simply put as Mail Order. Excitedly, I opened the box and found yet another discreet package. The pasties are packed in a small black box with an image of the pasty on the from label and the item name in pretty script. I think that unless someone was looking close, the label would go easily unnoticed and the package could easily be packed away without worry of prying eyes if needed.

Both pasties are made of a hard card-board-like material covered in black glitter with a black satin bow. The back is also black and has a layer of sticky adhesive that adheres to skin easily. Over the sticky side is piece of plastic that prevents it from sticking to everything and prevents dust and hairs from blowing onto them.

I wore them for my husband and he thought they were adorable. Their comfort was enough that I could wear them for a long amount of time and would risk wearing them to a play party without worry that they would randomly fall off leaving me bare-nippled. I would not, however, be able to wear them under a thin garment without a heaver coat to sweater as the pasties do create a rather pointed look on breasts reminiscent of the 1940 and 50 Wonder Bra.

When I removed the pasties, there was no pulling on skin or hair and none of the adhesive was left on or around my nipple. I was very excited by this as I was a little worried it would hurt to remove and reminded of a past experience with black electrical tape for a play party (lets just say, those ladies who wear black Xs under fishnet tops on a regular basis at parties and clubs are brave souls).

In all I give these lovelies a 5 out of 5 for cuteness, wearability, and durability!

Review: 52 Weeks of Romance

If you want your partner to participate in your idea of cute, sweet, romantic dates or evenings together and make your life feel a bit more like a modern romantic comedy, try 52 Weeks of Romance (2nd Edition). This deck of cards is made up for little tasks for the couple scratch off, read and complete at some point in the week as a surprise for their partner.

I received my deck from EdenFantasys in a discreet package, as normal, and found that the box of cards inside were almost as discreet. There's nothing inherently sexual or naughty about the package. In fact, it looks like something a woman might receive form a friend on Valentines Day. I think it makes for a cute little gift for that bachelorette that you're not really wanting to buy something naughty for but still want to get something for her to enjoy with her partner.

Inside the box are 2 sheets of cards with perforated edges to rip off. Each card is labeled on the back with black or pink as a His or Her card. On the other side is a silver sheet of latex covering the task for him or her. Instructions and wording on the cards and box are in English and French for that added touch of romance.

There is also a black How-to card that explains that one of the partners should select a card and scratch it off to reveal their surprise instructions. The next week, the other partner should do the same to keep things fair. The how-to card also suggests doing this at the same time each week with the example of Friday morning at breakfast.

 Also inside is a black polyester bag with a satin look that holds the cards so that the couple can discard the box, if they so choose, and keep the cards discretely in a bag in their lingerie drawer or toy box.

The cards, even though they say "For Him" or "For Her" to read, are very gender neutral and either partner can follow the secret instructions.

Instructions include such tasks as:

• "Set up a camera and film a commercial promoting yourself as a great mate. Make it like a shopping channel sales pitch. She'll be sure to buy after watching."
• "Recreate a classic movie scene by wearing a trench coat over a skimpy outfit. Even if its a quick trip to get the mail, leave the house in your coat and flash your mate before you leave. He won't believe his eyes! Be ready for more than a warm welcome!"
• "Routines dull the senses. Change them up this week. Start with household chores and switch up who does what. See if you can do something different each day for a week."
• "Grab a cape or freestyle with a towel and announce that you are Super Lover for the night. Ask her which super power she would like you to demonstrate."

My Opinion:

I have to say that despite how much I looked forward to these cards, I was disappointed left and right by them.

My first issue was the immediate smell of the cards when I opened the box. I am so happy these don't go on the body and I'll be storing them away from my toys because it's noxious. My only guess is that the scratch-off latex is giving off the odor.
The latex, as well as being smelly, is very messy to scratch off. I would not suggest doing this in bed at all as, when we did, it got latex shavings all over the sheets. These cards could have easily been non-scratch offs and just simple instruction cards shuffled about to pull out at random by the partner.

Second issue was the black bag. It looks silky but it's actually made of super cheap and super scratchy fabric. If the makers of 52 Weeks didn't want to spend the money on nicer fabric they could have opted out on making a bag at all as the cards can easily be tossed back into the box.

Reading the front of the box, there is no note that these cards are for male/female couples. If I had bought these at a store I would have been sorely disappointed as each card is labeled 'For Him' or 'For Her' to read. After reading the instructions on the cards, and finding that they are actually quite gender-neutral, I couldn't understand why the company bothered with the "His" and "Hers" labeling. I could just as easily perform these tasks for my husband just, as easily as I could for my girlfriend. The makers could definitely make these a little more GLBT friendly, and I think that would make the product appeal to more customers.

Then there were the instructions themselves. My husband, myself and my girlfriend all thought the instructions were somewhat ridiculous. We thought the idea of Super Lover was laughable and if I tried the trench coat with the skimpy outfit, there's no way my husband would allow me to leave the house for fear that something would happen and there I would be in lingerie and a little covering.

In all, I think these would be a cute idea for a bachelorette gift for those friends of mine that I couldn't imagine buying kinky gifts or lingerie for. However, for myself or those kinksters I'm friends with, I'll continue my search for something a bit more grown-up and naughty.

My Normal

My Normal, the tale of Dominatrix Natalie, is a really good movie, in my opinion. Sure there are points that might make a member of the BDSM community cringe slightly and go "its not like that, really" but in all it was a good story.

Nicole Laliberte plays lesbian Pro-Dominatrix Natalie who is struggling with finding a balance in her life between her job in the adult-industry, her dreams of becoming a director-producer, and her desire for a loving relationship.

I think Laliberte did an amazing job. Not only is she HOT but she is able to move between that hard bitch expression to the soft, thoughtful and even funny expressions that are needed to transition from Dominatrix Natalie to Normal Natalie.








As far as portraying the BDSM lifestyle and community...the movie doesn't go much further than the professional scene. It does show play sessions between the Dommes and their paying slaves. It doesn't really touch on the scene outside of that, so no D/s lifestyling, no bondage clubs, etc. If that's what you like, then this movie might let you down.

There are some fun play scenes. There's a point where the girls are getting ready and a slave in a Dalmation dog mask is on all fours with a tray on his back as an ignored piece of furniture. There is also a scene when Natalie is smoking a blunt and looks off screen and says "ashtray" and the camera pans out to show a man in a mask who opens his mouth for her to flick ashes in.

Best scene is one that you don't quite understand at the beginning so...
*Spoiler Warning!*
Jim is a client Natalie keeps after she gets a job as an intern on a movie set and takes a break from the Dungeon.
She is his Domme Mistress of sorts and "blackmails" him with video of their sessions at the Dungeon. This leads to financial Domination and a scene outside of his office in which she makes him massage her feet after she's been shoe shopping with his credit card.
At first it feels like she might be doing this without his consent, as the viewer doesn't get much back story. After the foot massage scene they have a friend conversation and he thanks her for the session and gives her an extra tip in his payment.

Now, the movie does cover some of the issues that come along with working in the adult industry including relationships with vanilla lifestylers, drugs, and "growing up".

I say "growing up" because some people in the industry, whether its stripping, Pro-Dom, porn, whatever, there are those who work in the scene who make it clear that one day they will grow up and move on from this life to the "white picket fence" ideal.

Sonia, one of Natalie's co-workers, is one of these types of people. She wants a long-term girlfriend, a baby, a "normal life".
*Spoiler*
She ends up leaving the job and when she comes back into the scene she's pregnant and has the life she has wanted. She even makes one small jibe at Natalie that perhaps she too should 'grow up' and move on as well, despite Natalie's confirmation that she enjoys the life she's living.

The movie does show some drug use, which might irritate some viewers who are stead fast in the Safe, Sane and SOBER motto of the BDSM lifestyle. But, from what I remember, none of the drug use was during a session, so maybe that will make the difference to some viewers.
The drugs in use are marijuana and what I assume is ecstasy. The pot is a key point as character, Ty, is a pot dealer and is the one who jump starts Natalie into writing a screen-play with him and working on her dream of being in the movie industry.

And then there is the relationship drama that, in my opinion, is rampant no matter what lifestyle you belong to. Natalie and Sonia discuss at the beginning of the film that no matter who they date, their girlfriends will not understand or accept that they are Pro-Dommes. Natalie experiences this first hand with Jasmine, her girlfriend who she pics up at the club and falls in love with. Jasmine can't stand that Natalie is a Dominatrix and even has nightmares about it. She tries to get Natalie to leave the BDSM scene by acting like she has her girlfriend's best interest at heart and encouraging her to reach for her dreams to be in the movie industry.
Sadly, this doesn't work out for the very reason that you can't change people no matter how much you love them and want to. Natalie finally gets it across to Jasmine that she likes being a Dominatrix and no matter where she works or what she does, that is part of her.
(This is something I have seen happen again and again when people in the BDSM scene date people who are more vanilla lifestylers. I always recommend kinksters to date other kinksters).

In all, the only thing I had an issue with was Natalie's co-workers, 2 blonde Dommes who are very ditsy. One of them is a Domme-in-training and one scene shows her asking what mummification is and instead of them helping her with the safety of the client in mind the tell her to wrap him in plastic wrap and leave a coupe of holes for air. Little things like that make me cringe so...yea. It was really my only complaint.

I left a lot out of my review such as Natalie's relationship with her sister and mom, her interaction with her Director boss, and more. I just want to say that its on Netflix and you should watch it ^_^
